About Me

I picked up a guitar at 12 in Australia and never put it down. By 18, I was playing clubs all over Victoria and New South Wales—anywhere that would have us.


That's also when I started learning to mix. I ran sound for my own band, and eventually talked my way into taking over the board at a club in South Melbourne. The pay was beer. The education was priceless.

 

I moved to the US in 2001 for my day job (software engineering—music rarely pays the bills), but the itch to perform came back fast. I was soon playing guitar in Bay Area bars and clubs, eventually landing with The Spazmatics.


In 2011, I hung up the guitar and moved behind the board full-time. I'd always been the guy tweaking the mix, obsessing over how the band sounded out front. Focusing on live sound felt like a natural shift—same obsession, different seat.


When the pandemic shut down live music, I leaned into studio work. Mixing and mastering from home kept me sane and sharpened a whole new set of skills. Now I do both—live production for bands and events, and remote mixing and mastering for artists everywhere.


I still love loud guitars, punchy drums, and music that hits you in the chest. That's what I listen to, and that's what I know how to mix.
