Today I opened up my latest startup to the public. This is cloudycosts.com.

Cloudycosts marketing website.

The idea behind CloudyCosts is to analyse an AWS account, so that cost savings can be found. With server instance scheduling, including RDS and RedShift, significant cost savings can be achieved by not running servers when they are not needed.

Along with a Cost alerting engine, users of the website will never be surprised by AWS cost increases and can deal with them when they start to get out of hand. For a small monthly cost, Cloudycosts can save a managers butt at the end of the year when the budget analysis is done. The “please explain” why costs are so high will be easy to explain, or even not get to that point.

Now begins the fun part of promoting and selling the site.
